Description
For your consideration, an antique logging tool is a two-man crosscut saw, commonly known as a “misery whip,” used historically for felling large trees and bucking logs.
These saws featured a long, straight or tapered blade with large, serrated teeth designed to cut in both directions as two people pulled it back and forth.
The saw includes wooden handles at both ends, which allowed for leverage and ensured a secure grip during heavy labor.
They were essential tools in the logging industry before the widespread adoption of gasoline-powered chainsaws in the early 20th century. Sold as wall sculpture decoration.
Dimensions: Blade length 64.25″ L x 5.5″ H x handle 13.25″ H x 1.25″ diameter.
