Produced by the renowned Gorham Manufacturing Company.
Mid-Century Modern, dating back to the 1960s.
It is made of silver plate (electroplated silver over a base metal).
Common Uses: This stylish piece was originally designed to serve as a dining table bread basket or countertop fruit bowl. The open wire pattern allows for ventilation, which keeps freshly warmed bread or rolls from getting soggy.
The solid circular piece in the center provides a heavy, stable base and typically features the “Gorham E.P. YC 746″ maker’s mark stamped on the very bottom
