Description
For your consideration, a vintage mixed-metal box from the renowned Los Castillo workshop in Taxco, Mexico. Founded in 1939 by Antonio Castillo and his brothers, the studio became world-famous for its innovative metalworking techniques and modernist designs.
The box features a circular, inlaid motif on its lid that is characteristic of Los Castillo’s “Pluma Azteca”. Interior inlay with solid wood, unsure which type of wood, it seems like mahogany or cedar.
Stamped with Los Castillo Hallmark.
