For your consideration, a Tolomeo Table Lamp, an iconic piece of Italian lighting design. It was designed in 1987 (some sources cite 1989) by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina for the manufacturer Artemide. A highly adjustable task lamp featuring an architectural “robot arm” structure.
Constructed from stamped and anodized aluminum with polished die-cast aluminum joints and tension control knobs.
It utilizes a system of spring-balanced cantilevered arms and a 360-degree rotating shade for precise light positioning.
