For your consideration, a vintage set of long-handled salt and pepper shakers, often referred to as “BBQ length” shakers. These novelty kitchen tools are designed with long metal rods and wooden handles to allow seasoning food from a safe distance, particularly when cooking over a hot grill or BBQ. They are frequently styled to resemble gavels or hammers, featuring cylindrical wooden heads attached to long metal shafts and matching wood handles.
These sets are commonly crafted from teak or walnut wood paired with stainless steel or other metals.
Many of these sets are mid-century modern (MCM) vintage items dating from the 1950s through the 1970s. Stamped William Sonoma.
