For your consideration, a handcrafted ceramic vase featuring a distinct textured crawl or “crackle” glaze finish.
A round, bulbous “moon jar” shape with a small, clean-rimmed top opening.
The upper portion showcases a heavy crawl glaze (often achieved with specialized shino or high-magnesium formulas), which pulls away during firing to create separate islands of white over a darker underlying base.
It transitions from a deeply patterned, cracked parched-earth texture at the top into a finely speckled, beaded, and unglazed volcanic gradient near the bottom.
Signed at the lower base.
